| | Hi! Hopefully you learned some new words yesterday. Today I would like to show you how you can memorize those new words easily. As always, you can reply to this email if you have any questions or suggestions! I'm here! 3 Lesson: 2 Amazing Tips on How to Memorize and How to Remember English Words READ IN ENGLISH! This is the most effective way to memorize new words. For example, I know a huge range of vocabulary in the online marketing field, because I read a lot on the subject. And I don't read anything else. As a result, my vocabulary is limited. What can you do? Read online news and blogs. The articles are generally short and concise. You will find many new English words that you haven't used yet. Use Google News and the BlogCatalog to find news and blogs. Visit News In Levels, an amazing website to read the latest news and learn some new English words. Created exactly for English language learners. Or use illustrations to learn the basic idioms and phrases. For those who are learning business English, I recommend reading the Guardian, The Economist, and The NY Times. When you see a new word add it to Google Translate or install a Google Dictionary in Chrome. Click on the new word twice to see the meaning of the word in English. The more you see the same words, the easier they will remain in your memory, and soon you will be able to use them in speech. How to learn 4-5 extra words investing the same amount of time and effort:- Use a Thesaurus. A Thesaurus is like a dictionary, but it doesn't give the meanings of words, instead it gives you all the relevant synonyms for each word (words with similar meanings). For example, you type the word "business" and you will be given words such as "commerce", "exchange", "trade", "firm", etc. My favorite thesaurus dictionary can be found here. But there is the widely-known Cambridge Dictionary too. If you are a visual type of person like me, you can make great use of visual thesauruses. For example: the Visual Thesaurus or VisuWords. This is a great way to learn 5-6 more words at the same time. And to dramatically increase your English vocabulary. But by just memorizing English words, they may not remain in your mind. Therefore, it is worth learning using flashcards. You can create them yourself or you can download the already made cards from Quizlet. Practise at work, or with friends and family at home. This way not only do you learn English, but the people around you do too. Of course, the very best way to memorize words, is to use them actively in speech. Preferably with a native English-speaking teacher. Conclusion: Read a lot and then practise with a native English speaker here at MyEnglishTeacher.eu or for free on one of these websites.
